Classes are offered year-round with seasonal schedules:
Each session typically includes eight classes.
Class fees typically range from $98 to $147, depending on class length and whether the participant is a resident or non-resident.
Registration is available through our online registration portal. All level one class sessions, except for the two summer months, are available online. Registration for higher levels opens on the last day of each session.
Please review the class descriptions available on our website or registration portal.
If you're still unsure, you can schedule a swim test with our Swim Lesson Coordinator.
If your child is placed in a class and it becomes clear that the level is not a good fit, we will do our best to move them to a more appropriate level based on availability.
December sessions are typically pro-rated due to fewer class days.
Yes, you may be able to register if there is space available and only one class has been missed. Check the registration portal or contact our front desk for availability.
Yes, we do offer a waitlist. However, we recommend registering for the next available session, as space on the waitlist is not guaranteed to open.
Our sessions are offered on either Mondays and Wednesdays or Monday through Thursday. You may be able to switch classes prior to the start of the session, depending on availability. Switching days is not an option once the session has started.
There may be limited availability to switch class times within a session if alternate time slots are offered.
If a class is scheduled on a day we are closed for a holiday, it will not be held. In such cases, the session fee will be prorated accordingly. If we remain open, classes will run as scheduled. Please refer to the list below for our observed holidays.
We do not generally offer makeup classes. Any makeup opportunities would be at the discretion of the instructor and dependent on availability.
An adult is required to be in the water for adult-child classes. No parent is required for Preschool and Learn-to-Swim levels.
You are welcome to sit on the bleachers or in the viewing room during lessons. Please keep the walkways clear to ensure they are accessible for any emergencies.
A 100% Refund/Credit will be made when the activity is cancelled by the North Whidbey Pool, Park, and Recreation District.
Patrons may receive a monetary refund, credit, or program transfer through to the first lesson. Prorated credit may be given for program transfers or with a physician's written medical verification in the case that the swimmer is unable to participate for medical reasons. Patrons are required to complete a Refund/Credit/Transfer Request Form and receive approval from the NWPPRD Executive Director before a refund check or credit will be processed. All refunds will be charged a $5.00 administrative processing fee unless waived by the Executive Director.
Please notify your instructor, and if you believe you are eligible for a refund, kindly complete a Refund/Credit Request Form available at the front desk.
Yes, swim lessons may still be held even if the school district is closed for a holiday. Our swim program follows its own schedule, which may differ from the school district calendar.
Yes, please check-in at the front desk each day your child attends lessons.
After you visit the locker room to change and rinse off, you will meet your instructor outside of the locker rooms, near the double doors.
Our instructors do a skills exit assessment prior to the last class of each session. You will receive a report card at the final lesson with information on the appropriate level placement for the next session.
You will meet your child in the same area where you dropped them off, near the double doors.
If the school district announces a snow day early in the day and weather conditions are expected to remain unsafe, the pool will be closed and no swim lessons will be held.
In this case, your account will be prorated for the missed lesson. We will communicate any closures as early as possible through our usual channels. Call our front desk, 360.675.7665, and dial "0" to speak with a Client Service Specialist.
