The Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for supervising and performing preventative maintenance on the facilities and all
mechanical equipment in accordance with the District’s Comprehensive Maintenance Plan. This
includes maintaining parks and recreational areas, such as landscaping, playgrounds, sports fields,
and outdoor amenities, ensuring they are safe and well-kept for public use. The role also involves
overseeing the maintenance of storage areas, ensuring that equipment and supplies are organized,
secure, and in good condition. In addition, the position supports the Recreation Department by
assisting with the set-up and takedown of event and program equipment, ensuring that all necessary
materials are in place for various recreational activities and events. Regular inspections, repairs, and
improvements are made to enhance the functionality and safety of the district 's facilities and parks,
contributing to a positive and well-supported recreational experience for the community.

Physical Requirements:
a. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
b. Ability to perform manual labor in various outdoor environments and weather conditions,
including extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
c. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach in order to perform tasks such as repairs,
maintenance, and equipment setup/takedown.
d. Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time, often on uneven terrain,
including park and recreational areas.
e. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding and safely work at heights as required for
maintenance and repairs.
f. Ability to operate and maneuver various maintenance equipment, including hand tools,
power tools, and larger machinery (e.g., mowers, tractors, pool maintenance equipment).
g. Ability to work in confined spaces, such as mechanical rooms or utility storage areas, as part
of maintenance and repair tasks.
h. Ability to handle physical demands of emergency response duties after hours, including
quick mobilization and problem-solving in a variety of situations.
i. Ability to use basic computer applications, including email, word processing, and
spreadsheets, as well as other software or apps related to maintenance scheduling, inventory
management, and reporting.

Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age with prior mechanical experience or a demonstrated ability
to learn and perform mechanical tasks effectively.
• Must obtain and maintain a Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)/Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
certificate within six (6) months of employment.
• Must be trustworthy, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision,
while also collaborating effectively with a team when needed.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, in accordance with the District's employment policies.
No relocation expenses are offered.
Salary Range as of January 1, 2024: $67,725-78,000. Paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, medical, retirement.

Duties include: greeting and checking in patrons, processing payments, enrolling patrons in various programs, providing accurate up-to-date information regarding programs - including schedule and fees, report preparation including bank deposits, maintaining numerous activity logs, answering and directing calls on the multi-line phone system, taking detailed messages, selling concession items, light cleaning tasks, other duties as assigned.

As we continue to grow and expand, we are looking for an Administrative Assistant to help the Executive Director and Board with our increasing administrative needs in our busy environment.
You'll work directly with the District Executive Director and Board of Commissioner in various administrative and recreational tasks including planning, organizing, and marketing, meetings, and special events. The right person will be a self-starter who RELISHES learning new technologies, programs, and processes to help us market programs, strategies, and our vision.
This is a part time position. Initially, hours are Monday-Friday 10:00AM-2:00PM; additional hours may be added in the future. On the fourth Thursday of each month the hours are 2:00-9:00PM and flexibility for additional evening meetings (infrequent) as needed by the Board of Commissioners.
Duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to the North Whidbey Pool, Park, and Recreation District Board of Commissioners and Executive Director to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Responsible for confidential and time-sensitive material. Job Description
Works directly with the Recreation Manager to coordinate Recreation Programs for North Whidbey Pool, Park, and Recreation District (NWPPRD). This position requires a proven background in sports and recreation programming. This position will be responsible for recreation program planning and recreation staff training under the supervision of the Recreation Manager. This position will have a strong sports and recreation background and understand best practices in implementing and managing inclusive programs, staff, and facilities. This position will serve as a recreation aide or sports official, as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Follows and enforces NWPPRD, state, federal, and county established policies and procedures as they pertain to NWPPRD operations.
• Works to schedule and provide quality recreation programs to community. This includes entering program information in registration software.
• Manages Recreation Program and coordinates with management team members to schedule staff for recreation programming. This includes assisting in finding alternate coverage for recreation aides absent due to illness or emergency and acting as the recreation aide if no alternative staff is available.
• Evaluates and makes recommendations for improvements in the recreation program, training improvements, policy changes, and scheduling adjustments.
• Participates in recruitment of staff for the recreation program.
• Coordinates and provides sports and recreation training. Provides training and orientation for new recreation staff.
• Works with Recreation Manager to supervise sports and recreation programs.
• Ensures program information is provided to staff in a timely manner to provide optimal marketing and staff training, ensuring Recreation Manager review before providing to Business Manager for implementation.
• Prepares information for families (registration dates, practice/game locations) in a timely manner, ensuring families have needed information for registration or attendance.
• Routinely meets with Recreation Manager for oversight of recreation program needs.
• Works with Recreation Manager to maintain an inventory of recreation supplies and equipment and makes recommendations for needed purchases.
• Works with Business Manager for staff issues requiring HR involvement.

The Senior Lifeguard supervises lifeguards on regular recreational swims and events. This position is responsible for overseeing lifeguard staff and patron safety when the Head Lifeguard or Recreation Manager is absent; they can close the facility and assume facility management responsibilities when no management is present. This position will work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
